We released Agent Systems for Academic Research Automation: An Evolving Survey, a living survey of agentic systems that produce scholarly artifacts such as papers, reviews, experiments, and rebuttals.
The survey organizes the landscape by the research phases covered, the artifacts produced, and the verification regimes supporting the systems' claims. It focuses on what current academic-research agents can actually do, where they remain brittle, and which engineering patterns recur across serious attempts to automate parts of research.
